Speak at your town meeting
Every town in the county opens its regular board meeting to the public, but the sign-up process isn’t the same everywhere — check your town below, and see the meetings page for schedules, meeting rooms, and agenda links.
Waynesville: fill out a written request card for the Town Clerk before the meeting is called to order. State your name and whether you live inside town limits, and keep remarks on topic — no personal attacks, and you can’t question the Council directly. Comments run in the order the cards came in, and there’s a time cap per speaker.
Canton, Maggie Valley, and Clyde: none of the three has posted formal comment rules online. Call the town hall below before the meeting to ask how they’re handling public comment that night — it can vary meeting to meeting.
Bringing handouts or documents? Call the clerk ahead of the meeting to ask how they want it handled — as above, three of the four towns publish no formal comment rules at all, so this varies town to town.

Waynesville Town Hall

Covers Town Manager, Assistant Town Manager, Human Resources, and Town Clerk (Administration). Separate from Waynesville Public Works (129 Legion Drive — streets, water/sewer, electric), which has its own entry. Office hours were not published on the Town's contact or Administration pages, so they're omitted here rather than guessed. Waynesville is the one town Haywood County's own Inspections Department excludes from its jurisdiction — inside Waynesville town limits/ETJ, the Town's own Building Inspections Department (number above) issues building permits and handles property-maintenance/junk-vehicle code enforcement instead of the county.
Canton Town Hall
